Would They Like It?

I always have had the voice of my family, but I'm no Mariah Carey or Christiana Aguilera. I have more of a Fiona Apple voice and a Regina Spektor voice. Their voice is low key but very unique and styled differently. I have always dreamed of going on American Idol but I have been thinking more and more lately that these folk kind of voices aren't what the judges are looking for. They're looking for the more loud, strong voices. Does anyone agree that they wouldn't be looking for the kind of voice I have? Any advice?
