I can't enter any chat rooms. What's wrong?

I'm trying to get into a chat about college sports, namely football. I'm new here and I don't understand why I can't just click on a chat and (nervously) jump in. This is making me frustrated and sad. I'd like to talk to you but I can't seem to get on ANY chat
