Not sure that's a good idea. The account will still be in your name and you are trusting a total stranger to pay a bill and maintain equipment that you are liable for. If they do not pay or do not return the equipment, your credit rating will be damaged. Best option is to pay out the remaining months on your service contract or the cancellation penalty. Whichever is less. The money may seem excessive now but in 5 years when you need credit and you have this delinquent account on your record, you'll wish you had just closed the account properly.
