Dumb baby daddy?

How do I deal with this person? My daughter is 2 and her father and i split when she was 4 months old. Ever since, he has never been there for her. I've been with a guy for 10 months now and he's the closest thing to a father she has ever had. I tried to keep her real dad around because I was raised better than to just kick him off. He hasn't seen my daughter since November and recently when he ran into my boyfriend, he had the nerve to stop and say, "Are you taking care of my daughter for me?" I was so angry that he feels its okay for him not to be taking care of his own daughter. Do I force him to be in her life, or do I just let him be? She barely knows him anyway, and the guy I'm with now does everything from rocking her to sleep to rushing her to emergency when I'm at work and can't get home....What do I do about this deadbeat?
