30mm telescope or no telescope?

A pair of binoculars will not offer as much magnification, as some people think. If this 30MM 30X telescope is of decent optical quality, go for it. A pair of binoculars that has that much magnification would be impossible to hand-hold, (you would need a tripod) and would be very expensive. The only drawback with a 30MM telescope, uming its optics are decent, is its ability to gather light, so you won't be able to see deep-space objects, but certainly you should be able to make out the rings of Saturn, the great nebula in Orion, and lots of detail on the Moon. I say buy it, if nothing else just for the fun of it. That being said, if it has optics that suck, like plastic lenses, then avoid it.
