I cannot fully understand the 'gender of power' model...any help?

I am writing an essay on the 'gender of power' and also its application in African rituals and initiation as well as using the concepts of Turner's liminality. However I cannot understand the basic argument of the 'gender of power' does it relate to Ortner's Gender hierarchy? Lol I don't need my essay done for me I just want to understand the basic concept... I would really appreciate any help anyone has.. Thank you in advance
